Polyethylene thermoplastic powders

Our Thermofix® thermoplastic powder is based on a modified polyethylene and is specially developed to provide long-term, protective surface layer of iron, galvanized steel and aluminum both for the interior and the exterior applications.

Thermofix® is typically used in a Fluid Bed Powder Coating process, which involves dipping preheated metal parts into a fine powder suspended in an air chamber. Fluid Bed process is used when uniform and drip-less coating is required. This method is very efficient and low cost.

Polyethylene thermoplastic powder for fluid application

Thermofix® thermoplastic powder was specially developed to ensure the surface protection of steel. The properties were achieved thanks to a special mixture based on modified polyolefins. Thermofix® has excellent mechanical resistance, resistance to chemicals, salt and pollution in the air. Thermofix® has excellent adhesion to metal. It provides a high degree of electrical insulation, abrasion resistance and impact resistance. It is applied by soaking in a fluidization bath.

Application: the heated metal is immersed for a few seconds in the fluidization bath. The powder adheres and spreads to create a uniform, smooth surface. The thickness of the layer is from 300-600 microns. This method is mainly used for wire program, shelves in refrigerators, garden furniture.

Polisint® is resistant to mechanical damage, stress cracking, adverse weather conditions, detergents, chemicals, acids, solutions, salts and air pollutants in the air. The surface has excellent adhesion to metal. The resulting surface also provides very good abrasion and impact resistance.
